I’m so glad my brother became a security guard at Allstate Arena.  Now I can get event tickets anytime I want.  Sometimes, I don’t even need event tickets to get in!  Here’s how it works.  Since my brother’s working the venue, he ends up getting a few complimentary tickets to most of the shows, even the ones he doesn’t really want to go to himself.  For the bigger shows, like the huge concerts and even arena football (it’s more popular than you think), he has to request ahead of time to get tickets. I don’t mind waiting to get into shows that I would love to see for free. For some shows, this means that he just gets people put on a list and they don’t need event tickets.  This doesn’t always work out though.  There are only so many complimentary tickets to go around and there are people higher up in the company who request them too. Obviously the VP’s will get the complimentary tickets before the bodyguards. The same goes for putting people on the list.  Still, he’s working the door sometimes.  He can still let anyone he wants inside to whatever event.  Just don’t expect to have a seat.
